Yeaterday at 4:44 pm, Pingree Grove and Countryside responded to a reported vehicle fire in a garage at 2465 Bella Drive. On arrival companies found a well involved fire in the middle unit of a 5 unit three story townhome. The call was up graded to a Box Alarm and later a special call for 2 extra engines. The initial fire attack was defensive using multiple 2.5" hose lines and a master stream from a ladder truck. At the same time firefighters were searching the four adjacent units to make sure all occupants were out. Once the fire was knocked down firefighters made interior attacks with hose lines. There were four minor injuries, all were treated on the scene and released. One cat was rescued, it is unknown about the cats condition at this time. One unit had heavy damage, three units had substantial damage and one unit had light damage. The five units across the driveway had minor damage. All five units in the fire building were uninhabitable. The fire is under investigation.
