On Friday August 7th Pingree Grove Fire District responded to a report of a field fire.
On arrival companies found a dismantled barn with three large piles of rubbish two
that were burning. Firefighters made a fast attack using the deck gun and a portable
monitor. Hampshire and Burlington Fire Districts assisted with Tenders. Fire was out
45 minutes after arrival. Plato Township Provided a front end loader to assist with
opening up the piles. Compainies were on the scene for two hours. South Elgin and
Elgin provided and Ambulance and Engine to cover the District during the fire.
