Last night at 8:04 pm Pingree Grove and Countryside responded with an engine auto-aid to Fox River for a reported structure fire at 39W545 Overcup. On arrival units confirmed that it was a working fire and the call was upgraded to a Box Alarm. 1201 responded. Pingree Engine 1214 was the drafting engine, 1214 personnel were assisting with defensive water operations and 1201 was assisting with multiple command positions. Pingree Grove Fire investigation personnel also responded to the scene. There was one civilian fatality on the scene. Pingree units remained on the scene until 12:45 am.

At 8:30 pm Pingree Grove was dispatched to responded to Fox River for a reported 2nd structure at 7N408 Homward Glen. 1202 and 1213 responded. On arrival personnel reported a confirmed a well involved attached garage with fire inside the house. 1202 was assigned water supply, and 1213 was assigned as the RIT Team and then reassigned to assist with overhaul. This fire was also upgraded to multiple extra alarms. Pingree Grove Fire investigation personnel also responded. Pingree units remained on the scene until 11:45 pm.

Both fires were in the same area, overlapping the assigned mutual aid responses and resources. Both fires were in non-hydranted areas requiring many tenders for water supply.
At 11:36 pm Engine 1213 responded mutual aid to Fox River for an activated fire alarm at 40W089 Route 64. On arrival, personnel found an alarm malfunction.
While Pingree Grove units were in Fox River, Pingree Grove was covered by a change-of-quarters engine from Huntley at Station 4 and two Pingree Grove ambulances were in service, one each at Station 1 and 3. |
