Yesterday at 4:35 pm Pingree Grove & Countryside was dispatched for a Field Fire in the area of Lenz Rd and Muirhead Rd. On arrival Personnel found Smoke comming from a wooded area South of Lenz Rd and and South of a corn field. Access was found and the Fire was on the property at 41W865 Lenz Rd. The Fire was about a half mile off the roadway, but fire units had to drive almost a mile on an unimproved dirt access road/trail. On arrival at the Fire area, units found a Brush Fire in the woods including trees burning. Mutual aid was dispatched from Burlington and Fox River. Units were on the scene for about an hour and a half. Companies had to do fire breaks in the brush and personnel were aided by the hills in the area, that kept the winds from spreading the Fire into the corn field. The cause of the Fire was determined to be a Campfire that started the brush in the high winds.
