In 1957, the Pingree Grove Volunteer Fire Department was about ten years old.

It was time to expand fire protection services to the residents of Pingree Grove and surrounding townships. A petition was created, signed, and submitted to Kane County for the creation of the "Pingree Grove and Countryside Fire Protection District". The petition was filed in September 1957 and the fire district was officially created in November 1957.
