Fatal Vehicle Accident

Last night at 9:43 pm Pingree Grove & Countryside was dispatched for a multiple vehicle accident in front of 39W937 Plank Rd. The call was up-graded to vehicles on fire and then up-graded again to an extrication with occupants trapped. On arrival personnel found a four vehicle accident with heavy damage, occupants trapped in vehicles, multiple critical victims and a vehicle on fire. Personnel immediately pulled an attack line to extinguish the fire, the fire was being fed by gasoline and was extinguished using foam.

1201 took command, two tenders, two additional ambulances and two medical helicopters were requested to the scene. 1301 was water supply, 1401 & 1402 were the landing officers for the helicopters. There were a total of six patients two were transported by helicopter to level one trauma centers, two signed medical releases and there were two fatalities on the scene. The scene was turned over to Kane County Sheriff's and is under Investigation. Plank Road was closed for 12 hours.
